TAČR THETA 2 - 4th Open Competition
Deadline for Submitting a Project Proposal: October 21, 2026
On August 26, 2026, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic announced the fourth public call for proposals under the THÉTA 2 Program to Support Applied Research and Innovation.
The THÉTA 2 Program’s public call is focused on fulfilling the vision of transforming and modernizing the energy sector in accordance with approved strategic documents. This objective will be achieved through support for research, development, and innovation projects in the energy sector that focus on improving public administration’s management of the energy sector, new technologies and system components with high potential for rapid practical application, as well as long-term technological perspectives.
TA ČR is announcing its fourth public call for proposals across three subprograms:

Eligible Costs
| Personnel costs | A cap has been set on “Average personnel costs per full-time equivalent” at 1.6 million CZK for all participants (if the amount is higher, a detailed justification is required) |
| Subcontracting | max. 20% of the total eligible costs of all participants |
| Other direct costs | costs for intellectual property, materials, services, low-value tangible and intangible assets, travel expenses, depreciation |
| Indirect costs | flat rate (max. 25% of personnel and other direct costs) and full cost (use of the flat rate is recommended) |

October 14, 2026 After the budget has been reviewed and approved, the draft proposal must be uploaded to the ISEP system and the electronic approval process for the transfer form must be initiated. |
| Personnel costs |
September 30, 2026 When planning personnel costs, please follow the Methodological Guide for Planning Personnel Costs. Please send HR Manager Ing. Eva Žufanová a list of the research team members you plan to include in the project proposal. You will be sent a salary range that you can use when planning for individual employees. |
