PROJECT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 22, 2026 APPLICATIONS FOR APPLICATION GUARANTEES: June 30, 2026

On June 3, 2026, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, announced the second public call for proposals under the PRODEF Program to Support Applied Research and Innovation in the Defense Industry, Subprogram 2: “National Public Calls for Proposals in Defense Research.”

The public tender under Subprogram 2 is focused on supporting applied research and innovation projects in the field of modern emerging and breakthrough technologies applicable to the needs of the Czech Armed Forces. The results of the projects will have high potential for application in a range of civilian and military areas, i.e., dual-use (for both civilian and military purposes).

Projects must be in line with key technologies that safeguard the state’s essential security interests and also comply with relevant strategic documents at the national and supranational levels (EU and NATO), as well as those in the fields of the exact and human sciences.

Deadline for the competition (the latest possible date for submitting a project proposal via SISTA) July 22, 2026, at 4:29:59 p.m.
The deadline for submitting documents proving the applicant’s eligibility (excluding documents that are part of the project proposal) to the TA CR data box (excluding documents that are part of the project proposal) to the TA CR data box July 22, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m.
The latest possible date for submitting an application for application sponsorship (after this date, we can no longer guarantee that the application will be processed)

Bidders in a public tender

The project proposal must include at least one enterprise (small, medium, or large) acting as the lead applicant or a co-applicant, which carries out the project independently or in collaboration with other participants.

Application of results/outputs

Application guarantor Each project proposal must have exactly one application sponsor—the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic.
Required attachment for the application guarantor

The applicant must demonstrate the application guarantor’s interest in the project proposal’s outputs/results and their practical implementation by submitting a mandatory attachment in the form of a Letter of Intent, which will be issued by the application guarantor—the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic—upon request. For the purposes of this public tender, the mandatory attachment is designated as “Confirmation of the Application Guarantor’s Interest in Utilizing the Results.”

The mandatory attachment from the application guarantor must be included in the project proposal and cannot be submitted later.

We ask all applicants to let us know as soon as possible if they intend to participate in the competition, especially given the upcoming holiday season.

ISEP

July 15, 2026

After the budget has been reviewed and approved, the draft proposal must be uploaded to the ISEP system and the electronic approval process for the transfer form must be initiated.

When planning personnel costs, please follow the Methodological Guide for Planning Personnel Costs.

Please send HR Manager Ing. Eva Žufanová a list of the research team members you plan to include in the project proposal. You will be sent a salary range that you can use when planning for individual employees.
