Mathematics

Follow-up Master's degree in full-time form. The language of instruction is Czech.

The programme can be studied only as a single subject.

What will you learn?

The aim of the study is to provide students with an extension of the general mathematical foundation in the supporting mathematical disciplines (Algebra and Mathematical Analysis) and a deeper comprehensive education in selected parts of modern mathematics. A continuously updated curriculum will ensure that they are able to engage in independent creative activity, acquiring new skills as needed for employment or future training. It will also provide them with skills and abilities that facilitate real-world problem solving and allow them to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

“Think deeply of simple things.”

The study of mathematics develops the ability to think critically and apply mathematical thinking in everyday life. In studying mathematics, students will be introduced to a variety of interesting and useful suggestions for pursuing a range of mathematical careers in business, government, and industry.

We want to reach mathematically capable students and provide them with a thoughtful graduate program with courses that range from basic to advanced and reflect the research interests of the staff, the individual interests of the students, and the needs of the job market.

Career opportunities

Thanks to the very high adaptability acquired through study and the ability to participate creatively in solving problems in a wide range of areas of modern mathematics, the application of graduates is quite universal and is not limited to workplaces with a purely research focus.

Graduates are well placed wherever mathematical imagination and the ability to think abstractly and conceptually can be used; in particular in basic research, in teaching at universities, in the creation of mathematical models in engineering and natural sciences, in the development of software, in institutes and companies where it is necessary to combine theoretical knowledge with concrete practical procedures.
