For me, Masaryk University has always been a symbol for the best possible education in Brno

Bára Hrnčířová graduated from the Matyáš Lerch Grammar School in Brno and is now studying Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University. She successfully completed her Bachelor’s degree last year and is now studying for her Master's degree. She is a founding member and President of the Generation Mendel Student Association.

Jana Klánová graduated from the Masaryk University’s Faculty of Science with a degree in Mathematics and Chemistry, and received her Doctorate in Environmental Chemistry. She has undertaken research in the fields of materials, molecular biology and environmental sciences in both the public and private sectors. Jana has been working at the RECETOX centre Since 2001, and has run the centre since 2013.

The Faculty of Law of Masaryk University is launching a selection of candidates from among master's and doctoral students and graduates of the master's study program (within 3 years after successful completion of studies) for paid internships at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO).

Two low greenhouses were built on the right and left sides of building no. 4 for the Department of Physiology and, later, the Department of Plant Physiology and the Department of Genetics at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University. These were entered from the cellar or through the English courtyard.

The first scientists have received a GAMU Career Restart grant

Six researchers from Masaryk University (two of them from our faculty!) have now received a Career Restart grant, which was announced by the MU Grant Agency in September. This is a grant for scientists who have interrupted their career in research, perhaps due to parental leave or for other reasons, will be awarded on a regular basis.

After more than a month's journey (thanks to strict quarantine measures), this year’s Masaryk University expedition has arrived to the Johann Gregor Mendel Czech Antarctic Station in James Ross Island, located close to the east coast of the Antarctic Peninsula.

The first scientists have received the MUNI Scientist Award for excellent results in their field

For the first time, the Grant Agency of Masaryk University has presented awards in the new MUNI Scientist competition, which recognises those scientists who have achieved excellence and significant achievements in their research. The first 37 scientists, along with their research teams from workplaces across the university, received their diploma and monetary reward in mid-December.
