The Government Council for Health Risks will decide next week whether the second dose of covid-19 vaccines will be given for more than three weeks, as has been common so far. The immunologist Vojtěch Thon, who works at our faculty at the RECETOX center, is one of the experts who promotes the postponement of the second dose of vaccination. The MU Faculty of Science is proud of the new holder of the Austrian Nobel Prize

Slovak astrophysicist Norbert Werner, who works at the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University, has been awarded the Ignaz L. Lieben Prize, also known as the “Austrian Nobel Prize”. The award, given annually by the Austrian Academy of Sciences to young scientists in the field of molecular biology, chemistry or physics, has been awarded to Werner for his contribution to X-ray astronomy.

Scientists have launched the first nanosatellite to detect gamma-ray bursts into space

The first nanosatellite aimed at detecting gamma-ray bursts is now in orbit. Less than 15 hours after the launch, the scientific team, led by astrophysicist Norbert Werner from the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University, managed to connect with the satellite for the first time.

Kašparovský joins the leadership of RVŠ
