The Faculty of Science, Masaryk University against COVID-19: production of nanofiber filters for voluntary sewn masks

The cooperation between the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Physical Electronics resulted in the production of filters from nanofibrous material prepared by the electrostatic spinning method. These filters can be inserted into volunteer sewn mask and significantly increase their efficiency.

Listen to Czech Radio's report on our anthropologists

Researchers from the Department of Anthropology of the Faculty of Science provided a database that includes 3,000 three-dimensional models of the human face, of which a thousand scans are children's faces. These virtual templates will allow experts from the CIIRC Research Center of the Czech Technical University in Prague to quickly develop models that will be used for 3D mask printing for children aged 4 to 10 years.
