Student Klára Cigošová: For research in simulated microgravity all the way to France

She studied at an art high school and is now engaged in research on tooth development and regeneration at the Faculty of Medicine. In addition, she is in her first year of the bachelor’s program in Environment and Health at the RECETOX center. Klára Cigošová breaks many stereotypes with her diverse range of interests. As someone with an artistic spirit, legal insight, an anthropological background, and a focus on environmental risks, she also explores the effects of microgravity on the musculoskeletal system. Earlier this year, she traveled to Montpellier, France, to study this topic.

Daniel Nývlt Awarded the Chilean Order of Bernardo O'Higgins for Contributions to Antarctic Research

On October 15, 2024, Daniel Nývlt, head of the Czech Antarctic Research Programme based at the Department of Geography of SCI MUNI, received a state honour from the Republic of Chile for his role in the long-standing excellent cooperation between the Czechia and Chile in Antarctic research.

APC tokens and discounts at publishers

Authors of Masaryk University have the opportunity to use tokens and discounts for publishing in Open Access mode with selected publishers. Discounts were negotiated through the National Centre for Electronic Information Resources (CzechELib). In order to receive a token, the following conditions must be met. The Festival of Science and Technology became green once again thanks to our natural scientists

On September 6–8, 2024, enthusiastic and smiling green T-shirted natural scientists once again lit up Pavilion A of the Brno Exhibition Centre and its surroundings with their green tents. Almost a hundred students and employees spread scientific knowledge, explained rules and demonstrated practical skills from their specialisations at fourteen sites. As always, those interested in mathematics could enjoy the playfulness and wit of the Science Theatre.
