Paediatric brain tumours arise based on a variety of genetic and epigenetic alterations, which have been recognized in the previous decade. These findings enabled major improvements to the diagnostics and clinical management of paediatric brain tumours and overall deepened our understanding of molecular processes driving pathogenesis. All these breakthrough discoveries have been made by utilizing tissue biopsies and still, current treatment plans rely on surgical interventions to obtain tumour material and imaging modalities. To address this challenge, this project is focused on liquid biopsies, especially applications focused on the study of circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA).
