Influence of sample grain and extent on coral reef fish richness

The species-area relationship is one of the most studied ecological relationships. Even though scale consists of three components (grain, extent and the number of samples) most species-area analyses remain blind to these issues, assuming that species accumulation is solely related to an increase in total area. The goal of this project is to test the influence of sample grain and extent on the coral reef fish richness in different environments, reef types and ocean basins.
