One of the significant problems in protein diversity's rapid characterization is the laborious production of proteins via classical recombinant expression. The alternative production of proteins is offered by in vitro transcription and translation (IVTT). This project aims to optimize IVTT in a microfluidic system, which will then be applied for the rapid characterization of novel proteins identified in genomic databases or designed by ancestral reconstruction and artificial intelligence.
