The aim of the project is to create a synthetic microbial consortium optimized for the degradation of kitchen waste material with a high lipid content. Research in this area represents a new and highly efficient approach to address the degradation of this specific biodegradable material, therefore the topic is actual and contributes to the intention of sustainable development of human society. The project will be carried out simultaneously in the laboratories of the Section of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, Masaryk University and in the laboratories of the Archaea Biology and Ecogenomics Division, University Vienna. The project will finance the travel of the project investigators and the living expenses of the staff necessary for successful collaboration on the research of the given issue.
