In the field of basic research and applications, methods of physicochemical analysis will be developed: atomic absorption spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, plasma lamellar spectrometry, atomic fluorescence spectrometry, laser desorption / ionization organic mass spectrometry , laser ablation methods for generating aerosol samples for elemental and isotope analysis, plasma pencil. Applications are focused on biology, geology, archeology, the environment, advanced materials and cultural heritage subjects. Specimen analysis will be used to determine the forms of mercury in environmental compartments. In the area of material research, the corrosion protection of metal objects of cultural heritage will be studied, new advanced materials and nanomaterials will be developed and ab-initio calculations will be carried out. The creation of clusters from the chalcogenide glass system for memory elements will be studied. In the area of physical chemistry, computer design and preparation of supramolecular structures for applications in antitumor therapy and molecular electronics will be solved.

Results

The results of research conducted by PhD students and Master students were published in international reviewed journals registered in the Web of Knowledge database and presented in the form of poster messages and lectures at scientific meetings. New, original results were achieved in the field of material chemistry, elemental analyzes including trace and ultratrace, plasma spectrometry, mass spectrometry, laser ablation, laser-induced breakdown spectrometry, ab-initio structural calculations, nanoparticle preparation, environmental analysis, elemental imaging of surface and volume samples, the study of aerosols produced by laser ablation and the relationship between their characteristics and the ICP-MS signal.
