Massive hot stars constitute an important part of our Galaxy and many other galaxies. Consequently, a detailed knowledge of their evolution and of their influence on the circumstellar environment is necessary for out understanding of the structure and evolution of individual galaxies. One of the most important problems of massive star evolution is our poor knowledge of mass-loss rates via hot star wind. The aim of the project is to obtain reliable predictions of hot star mass-loss rates, that can be used for example for the evolutionary calculations. We plan to study the influence of individual approximations that can preclude correct mass-loss rate predictions. On the basis of comparison with observed wind parameters we will obtain wind models that are able to reliably predict wind mass-loss rates. These models will be used to obtain mass-loss rate formula for hot stars that can be used for the evolutionary calculations of massive stars. The project will contribute to better understanding of hot star wind and consequently also of massive star evolution.
