Atomic absorption spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry mass spectrometry, laser induced breakdown spectrometry, atomic fluorescence spectrometry, organic mass spectrometry with laser desorption/ionisation, laser assisted plasma spectrometry, Raman and infrared spectrometry, electron spectroscopy and microscopy will be be used in fundamental research and applications in analysis of biological, geological, archaeological, paleontological and environmental samples, advanced materials, and objects of cultural heritage. Speciation analysis of mercury will be used for environmental samples.
