The project is aimed at the synthesis and characterization of new molecular, oligomeric, and polymeric compounds of the zinc triad with selected dithiolates. The syntheses will start from mono-, bi-, and trifuctional dithiolates, which are able to form coordinated polymeric arrays. Their compositions, structures, and physicochemical properties will be studied by means of NMR, IR and Raman spectroscopy methods, X-ray diffraction, porosity will be examined by adsorption isotherms of gases, and optical properties will be investigated by time-resolved and steady-state luminescence spectroscopies. The results will serve as a feedback for the modification of starting ligands and other molecular precursors in the search for optimal pore characteristics and optical properties of the studied materials.
