The various departments and their units provided information on their study programmes and supervised excursions to their laboratories and other workplaces at both the Kotlářská Campus and the University Campus at Bohunice. Tours were also conducted around SCI MUNI’s Central Library. While professional guarantors and lecturers provided introductions to the various study programmes, students of those same study programmes were available to answer questions. This gave the applicants visiting the Open Days the opportunity to get a better picture of what awaits them during their studies, to get to know the faculty premises and to discuss anything that interested them.
Introductory talks on the study programmes available at MUNI’s Faculty of Science were provided by the Dean, Tomáš Kašparovský, and the Vice-Dean for Development, Research and Quality, Jaromír Leichmann. Applicants were also given details on the admissions procedure. Students considering applying for one of the teacher education programmes were addressed by the Vice Dean for Cooperation with Secondary Schools, Markéta Munzarová, the Vice Dean for Teacher Education Programmes, Zdeněk Bochníček, and the chemistry teacher specialist, Jaromír Literák. Interest was also aroused by students of the teaching programme, who gave presentations on their experiences and then stayed behind after their presentations were over to answer questions from students and their parents.
Thanks to all who participated
A big thank you to all the academics and students involved, especially those who introduced applicants not only to the opportunities for study but also to the atmosphere of our faculty.
