President Petr Pavel and the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mikuláš Bek, handed over appointment decrees to new professors at the Karolinum in Prague. Among the new appointees were Petr Beneš, Martin Bobák, Marcela Buchtová, Petra Urbanová, and Ivo Rudolf.

President Petr Pavel appointed 78 new professors on the recommendation of the academic and artistic boards of universities. Ten of them are from Masaryk University, with the Faculty of Science boasting the highest number—five new professors.
