Newly appointed professors receive their appointment decrees

Today, in the Karolina Grand Hall of Charles University, the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Petr Gazdík, handed over appointment decrees to our new professors, including the Dean of our faculty Tomáš Kašparovský, the Director of the Department of Geography SCI MUNI Petr Kubíček and Štěpánka Vaňáčová. Congratulations!

On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, the President of the Republic, Miloš Zeman, appointed a total of 80 new professors, based on proposals by the Scientific and Artistic Councils of the various universities.

Today we commemorate the 90th birthday of the emeritus dean of our faculty and Rector Emeritus of Masaryk University, Prof. RNDr. Eduard Schmidt, CSc.

On this occasion, the dean of the faculty, Prof. Tomáš Kašparovský, laid a wreath on his grave at the Řečkovice cemetery, accompanied by the incoming dean, Prof. Luděk Bláha, and other representatives of our faculty. Together, they paid a silent tribute to him.

Since 2020, the Vice-Rector for Research at MU has been awarding a prize for outstanding achievements in science. This year, 39 scientists and research teams received the award. Among them are 15 of our scientists. We warmly congratulate all the winners.
