The university run is open to anyone who enjoys exercise and a pleasant atmosphere. Whether you’re an experienced runner or just starting out, you’ll have a unique opportunity to run through the campus and see the Faculty of Sports Studies, the Faculty of Science, CEITEC, and the Medical Faculty buildings from a different perspective.
By registering by May 4, every adult participant will receive a personalized race number.
A new feature this year is the relay race
This year, adults will run a 4,800-meter course, while children will have shorter circuits based on age—107 and 500 meters. If the nearly five-kilometer course is too much of a challenge for you, you can join a new event: a relay race for teams of four, which must include at least one woman.
On race day, check-in begins at 4 p.m., the children’s categories start at 5 p.m., and the adults take to the course at 6 p.m. The Faculty Group of Creative Students (FUKS) will lead the pre-race warm-up and provide the accompanying program.
Registration until May 11
Interested participants can register online through the MU Business Center until May 11. Adults who register by May 4 will receive a personalized race number. The entry fee is 300 CZK; children run for free.
Last Year’s Winners and Strong Turnout
In last year’s race, Daniel Kotyza, a student at the Faculty of Sports Studies and a specialist in the 800- and 1,500-meter events, completed the four laps the fastest. “I know the course between the faculties; I run here sometimes, but mainly I study here. The surface was good; the hardest part was passing groups of runners—I had to find space,” he said after the race.
Pavla Štoudková, also a student at the Faculty of Sports Studies and a specialist in the 800-meter race, won the women’s division. “This was my first time running here, and I really liked the course. I enjoyed being in contact with the other runners. I know the campus from classes, but the race gives it a whole new dimension,” she said of her performance.
Last year’s race saw a total of 205 participants in the men’s and women’s categories. “The number of participants is comparable to some of Brno’s running cups,” says Kateřina Pešková on behalf of the organizers, who also recommends not delaying registration—the race capacity is limited to 300 runners.
