Since the coronavirus pandemic hit, scientists around the world have been trying to understand this insidious pathogen. Despite more than a year of hard research, however, countless questions still remain unanswered. Czech experts are among those looking for much-needed answers, including the Brno biologist Omar Šerý, who works at our Faculty of Science. The iGEM Brno team of students from Masaryk University and Brno University of Technology achieved historic success when they won the overall victory in the Undergraduate category at the iGEM international synthetic biology competition.
