Dean's barbecue postponed to 26 September
As a result of the flood emergency and the postponement of the start of classes, we also postponed the Dean's Grill by one week.
From 6 to 7 February The High School Conference of Czech Hopes II took place at the university campus Brno Bohunice. The event was attended by 350 students from all over the Czech and also Slovak Republic. The aim of the event was to acquaint students with various extracurricular activities, successful young people who shared their experiences. Organizations and companies enriched studens with a lot of experience and opportunities.
On Thursday, a full day of workshops was held for participants, with a total of 30 workshops, where students could learn new skills from science, rhetoric and journalism to business.
Friday's program was in the spirit of lectures of successful high school and university students. In the morning the conference was opened by a panel discussion on the topic of Czech education. After that three main lectures followed, where an eightfold world champion in martial arts Martina Ptáčková, the youngest mayor in the Czech Republic Jan Papajanovský and one of the greatest hopes of Czech science Alexandr Zarivnij described their stories and gave advices to their younger followers. In the afternoon there were 15 lectures divided into science, inspiration and business and students could also talk with various organizations, about themes such as internship opportunities.

The Dean has decided that if a student cannot attend classes because of the floods or is involved in efforts to deal with the damages will be automatically excused. Should the situation continue past the first week of classes, students should contact the Students’ office for individual consultation.
