Botanical seminar: Klára Panda – Centromere architecture and chromosome size evolution (PhD defence)

Lecture Science & research In person

About the Event

Chromosome size varies enormously across eukaryotes, and its evolution is commonly explained by variation in genome size, chromosome number, repetitive DNA turnover, and karyotype restructuring. Less is known about how cellular constraints, meiotic transmission, and lineage-specific ecological and evolutionary contexts contribute to chromosome size evolution.
