INTERREG is a set of EU programmes for cooperation and development through connecting regions and financing projects focused on shared European challenges, supporting economic and social development, and strengthening regional cohesion. INTERREG VI-A Austria – Czech Republic Programme
The programme area covers, on the Austrian side, parts of the federal states of Lower Austria and Upper Austria as well as the City of Vienna, and on the Czech side the South Bohemian, South Moravian and Vysočina Regions. The supported thematic areas include science and research, climate and environmental protection, education, culture and tourism, and cross-border governance.

INTERREG Czech Republic – Poland 2021–2027 Programme
The programme area consists of five Czech regions (Liberec, Hradec Králové, Pardubice, Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian) and six Polish subregions: Bielski and Rybnicki (Silesian Voivodeship), Jeleniogórski and Wałbrzyski (Lower Silesian Voivodeship), and Nyski and Opolski (Opole Voivodeship). The programme supports activities in areas such as economic development, environmental protection, culture, tourism, and transport.

INTERREG Czech Republic – Slovakia 2021–2027 Programme
The programme area consists of three Czech regions (South Moravian, Zlín and Moravian-Silesian) and three Slovak regions (Trnava, Trenčín and Žilina). INTERREG Czech Republic – Saxony 2021–2027 Programme
The programme area on the Saxon side includes the districts of Vogtlandkreis, Zwickau, Erzgebirgskreis, Mittelsachsen, Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge, Bautzen, and Görlitz, as well as the cities with district status of Dresden and Chemnitz. On the Czech side, the programme area covers the Karlovy Vary, Ústí nad Labem, and Liberec regions. Supported projects focus on climate change adaptation, increasing biodiversity, promoting education, supporting cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, and institutional cooperation. A new theme is support for research and innovation.

The programme area includes the Karlovy Vary, Plzeň, and South Bohemian regions, as well as the border areas of the Bavarian administrative districts of Upper Franconia, Upper Palatinate, and Lower Bavaria. The programme area includes 14 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Neighboring countries that are also part of the programme area are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, and Ukraine. The programme has defined the following priorities and objectives:
A) Smarter Danube Region – strengthening research and innovation capacities, developing skills for smart specialization and industrial transformation.
B) Greener, Low Carbon Danube Region – renewable energy, biodiversity, sustainable water management, adaptation to climate change.
C) More Social and Inclusive Danube Region – quality services and education, development of social infrastructure, strengthening the role of culture and tourism in economic development.
D) Better Cooperation Governance – institutional capacity of public authorities.
