We are proud holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award

Excellent research starts with people.

At SCI MUNI, we work to improve recruitment, leadership, career development and everyday working conditions — so people can do good research and thrive.

Four pillars guiding our work:

I. Ethics, Integrity, Gender and Open Science

Building a respectful and inclusive research culture through research integrity, equal opportunities, open science and clear ways to raise concerns.

II. Researchers’ Assessment, Recruitment and Progression

Making recruitment, assessment and career progression transparent and fair, with clear expectations and recognition of diverse contributions to research.

III. Working Conditions and Practices

Improving everyday working life through clear procedures, accessible information and support for a healthy balance between work and personal life.

IV. Research Careers and Talent Development

Supporting people at different career stages through learning, mentoring, career guidance and opportunities to develop their skills.

Until 2022, the HR strategy of the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University was supported by a national project entitled “Strategic Management Development of a Research Organisation in Line with the Requirements for the HR Award”. This initiative was part of the five-year OP VVV project “Human Resources Development and Internationalization of Research at MU” (HR4MU), co-funded by the European Union.

At Masaryk University, based on an exemption granted by the European Commission, the HR Excellence in Research Award is held by all faculties, as well as CEITEC and the Institute of Computer Science. These units are defined in the Statutes of Masaryk University as constituent parts that form the university (Statutes of MU, Part Four, Organisational Structure of MU, Article 14 Constituent Parts Statutes MU | Masaryk University). More information is available on the website: HR Award | Masaryk University.
